Leeds University Union Sub Aqua Club

Welcome to LUUSAC

Eddystone Lighthouse in Plymouth

LUUSAC is a British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) branch based at the University of Leeds in West Yorkshire. We run training for scuba diving each year, whether you're new to sub-aqua diving or you have learnt to dive with PADI, BSAC, SAA, SMAS, SSAC, or SSI we can cater for you. We dive throughout the year and go on regular trips both in the UK and abroad.

Coming Soon

Try Dives

We even give you the opportunity to try scuba diving for just £10 with our Try Dives at the start of the academic year. Click here for more information.

I'm New To Scuba Diving

Each year we take on up to 20 people who have never scuba dived before. If you're new to scuba diving and want to experience the thrill we can train you to gain an internationally recognised qualification. Over the course of the year we will teach you the theory behind the sport and you will develop practical skills both in the pool and open water to gain the scuba diving qualifications of BSAC Ocean Diver and BSAC Sports Diver level.

As a BSAC Sports Diver you will be able to scuba dive anywhere in the world up to a depth of 35m. BSAC Sports Diver is of equivalent standard to PADI Rescue Diver and is a qualification respected by dive centres across the world

Read up on what’s involved - if you want to chat then come and find us at the Sports Fair or come along to our introductory meeting at the start of the academic year. Or if you have any enquiries you can email ku.oc.casuul@ofni

If you are already a qualified diver then we can help you gain more experience and skills or you can just come diving with us. If you have learnt with another agency then you can dive under your existing qualification and develop the skills necessary to dive in UK waters and you can undertake further training with the BSAC.

Socials

If the diving alone isn't enough to tempt you we also have a very active social scene. From pub crawls to Alton Towers trips and from beach cleans to barbecues there should be something to interest everyone. See the Socials page for more information on things we get up to when we aren't diving.
