Whilst LUUSAC is primarily a diving society we also have a rich social aspect to the club. As well as holding our weekly pub sessions at the Eldon, we also hold a number of awesome socials throughout the year.

Meet and Great Social

Held during fresher's week, this pub/night-out social is a fantastic opportunity for new members to meet everyone. We aim to get new members involved from the very beginning of the year and what better way for new members to meet people than to follow a quiet drink in the pub with a loud night on the tiles?

Stupidly Safe Pub Pub Quiz

This annual event has proven very popular in the past. An innovation by two of our most dedicated members, Stupid George and Safety Tim, this quiz-come-pub-crawl will test your knowledge with a mix of puzzles, trivia and pictures thrown together with pub specific questions. There is, of course, a prize for the winning team at the end.

Otley Runs

From the annual Rubik's cube Otley run at the beginning of the year to the traditional after Christmas and a post exam adventure. We hold a wide range of different themes, all of which have a great atmosphere and are a great way to get to know people. We do, of course, encourage our members to enjoy Otley Runs responsibly.

Weekly Pub Sessions

A nice break is needed after our Thursday lecture sessions and this is a good chance for all our divers to catch up with each other. It's a great excuse for us to socialise and discuss our cleanest water sport. We get complimentary food during term time at The Eldon, as well as very reasonably priced drinks. This is all before we head in to town or to the Union to show off our classy dance grooves.

Christmas Meal

The annual Christmas meal is the first chance we have to change our wetsuits and fins for posh frocks and painful shoes. It consists of a three course meal with free table wine and is usually finished by a house party (hosted by one unsuspecting LUUSAC member).

Easter Trip

The ever popular easter trip is held abroad and after a long day of diving it's good to relax. We do this by providing quality places to eat at our chosen location, as well as finding a reasonably priced watering hole for a quiet get together in the evening. Of course drinking and diving do not mix so we have a free day at the end of the week with the promise of a quiz, karaoke and a cracking night out to finish off what is always a fantastic holiday.

Summer Ball

Yet another chance to get dolled up and eat an amazing three course meal in style. It's a great excuse to have a party and celebrate another year of diving and debauchery. It involves a mix of great tunes, prizes for achievements and another opportunity to show off our amazing dance moves, this time in our finest frocks and swankiest suits.

Day Trips

When not in the pub or 30metres underwater we organise occasional day trips, bagging cheap deals to places such as laserquest, paintballing and even Alton Towers. It's a good way to get out of Leeds and do something different with our weekends.
